Will momma and babies be ok in a pet carrier to travel?

A large one together, or two smaller ones to separate the kittens from her during most of the trip.

I’d get one larger-size soft pet carrier. You don’t say how you’re traveling but you may want to have a litter box in the car for Momma to use, if it’s a long distance. If you’re shipping them–well, don’t. There is no kind of temperature control in the baggage area of an airplane.
