Is it better carry our 6 weelk old chinese crested puppy in our hands or in a pet carrier?
Question by Jamie J: Is it better carry our 6 weelk old chinese crested puppy in our hands or in a pet carrier?
We do not want to leave our pup home alone when we visit my wife’s parents today. We have a small pet carrier, but I worry that this will scare her in the way a jail cell may scare a prisoner. My wife contends that this is the best method because it is after all a “pet carrier” and that is what it is designed for. She also makes the point that this method will free our hands up for other things- however I remain leary of this method because I worry about my pups stress level and how being in this carrier may potentially agravate or scare her.
Please tell me which is a better way to transport our puppy, by holding her in our hands, or by putting her in a pet carrier- she is 6 1/2 weeks with 1st shots.

Hold her in your hands! If she is only 6 and a half weeks old, she will learn to love you if you keep making contact with her. Surely, as she gets older, pet carriers will be out of the question. Leashes will give her much freedom when she gets older. For now, spoil her, brush her, pet her, and spoil her rotten. She’ll grow to love you!
