try your local shelter they sometime have them for real cheap. Petsmart, Petco or some kind of pet store

Petco & PetSmart carry them, and you can also check Craigslist to see if any local people have a carrier that they no longer need.
Walmart sells pet carriers too. Albertsons does, too (at least my local Albertson does).
craigs list…it is a lifesaver
