Pet Carrier

Question by plumeria1023: Does anyone know of a good carrier on wheels that would fit two medium-sized, one-year-old cats?
I need to take my two cats to the vet for their annual checkup, and it’s less costly to take them at the same time because I would be charged only one exam fee. I have back problems, so I am looking for a carrier with wheels that can house two. The vet is only a couple of blocks, but I can’t carry both cats.

There are a couple options at Petco. They are a bit pricey but would make your vet trip a breeze. The least expensive is:

The picture shows it as a backpack but it has wheels so you can pull it. If you’re looking for more room you will have to go up in price. Some other options are . . .

There are many other styles on their website and i’m sure there are many others at different pet specialty stores. Look at carriers for dogs, that what mine were for, so you will get more room to fit both cats.

well if you can put a barrier in the back part of your car and let them be free to move around and to look out of the windows
and only give then a little bit of water until you stop for the night. I think it might keep them lot more come

Question by ElCapitain: How can i make my cats more comfortable on a long car journey?
Hi, next month i will be moving house a long way away. This will involve a 12 hour car journey and im worried about how my 2 cats will take such a journey. I have taken one of my cats to the vets before and all the way she did a really weird meow, kind of like she was in distress. When we went to pick her up a few days later i sat her in the cage on my lap and she peed all over me (it was disgusting, almost threw up) and did the same meow, so she must have been scared. That was only a 15 min drive, how is she gonna cope with a 12 hour drive? I was thinking about sedatives but as they are both getting on in age (about 12 years old) i am worried it will be bad for them. Im not sure what to do, can anyone please help me? Thank you.
They wont be in the trunk coz my 2 dogs will be in there. They will be on the back seat and have plenty of room. But as i said one of them was really distressed when she went to the vet and she was on my lap so there was plenty of room for her.
Our car has a big trunk and the dogs go in it every time we take them for a walk to the park so dont worry, its plenty big and we will be making regular stops to let the dogs out. THank you for all your suggestions.

The vet may have to give them something to mellow them out…

Question by al: What do you give cats to keep them calm on a long car ride?
We’re taking two cats on a 10 hour car trip, because we’re moving to a new house. I know this can be stressful on them (and us). Can any one recommend a kitty valium or something?
Thanks for all the good answers. Even the smart-ass answers were worth a laugh. I can’t pick a best answer from these, let the voters choose……
