How big will my shih tzu puppy get?

Question by : How big will my shih tzu puppy get?
My shih tzu puppy is 4.7 lbs at 3 months and his parents were both 9/10 lbs. About how big will he get? I will love him at any size but am wondering. The breeder said he may be a little bigger than his parents like 11 lbs. At what age is he full grown? He is very healthy and happy so I am happy but want to make sure the carrier I bought will last. The vet said to go by his parents weight.

Thanks!

Your vet is right. If his parents were 9-10 pounds, he most likely will be the same. He will be fully grown at about 1 year of age.

Q&A: Can I leave my pet in the pet carrier all day?

Question by mistypisces: Can I leave my pet in the pet carrier all day?
I was wondering if it is okay to leave my pet locked up for 8 hours in a carrier while Im at work. My parents say it is wrong but I want to crate train her. I am putting her in my bathroom with food and water but she is making a huge mess and pooping every where. I really want to crate train her. Is this okay to leave her locked up that long with no food and water and then feed her when she gets home? She is 6 months old

Question by : Can my 2 pet rats sleep in a pet carrier for just one night?
I need to visit my parents this evening. I want to take my two little boy rats with me in their rat carrier to see my parents and have some playtime over there. I want to have the option of staying overnight rather than driving home. Will my boys be ok spending one night in the carrier? They’ll get lots of playtime beforehand. I just wondered whether it was cruel, since they can be quite active at night, i wouldnt want them to go stir crazy! Hope someone can help?
