Question by Emie86: How can I travel with my two cats?
I may be traveling back to where I’m originally from. I know amtrak and greyhound does not allow pets aboard. I’ve looked at flights, and some of them allow to have your pets as carry-on. But I can’t find the height specifications for the carrier, and since this isn’t something that is for sure I don’t want to call around to a bunch of different airlines and ask the same question.
Is there any other alternatives, and would anyone happen to know what the size of the carrier has to be?

The cats have to be able to stand up, go in a circle by turning around in it, and lay down. Remember to make sure and investigate into how they treat the animals on the flight. Some animals die easily. Good Luck.

Question by V-V: Traveling with pet rats?
Me and my family will be taking a week long vacation at the end of the month and I think it would be best to take my two rats along instead of leaving them at home with no care. What is the best way to travel with them? Their cage is too big to take with me (obviously) and it’s not easy to reassemble. I was thinking of using a dog carrier like this:

Add some bedding, toys and food and keep them in there for the week. Will they be alright in that or is there a better way to transport them on a tight budget?

A dog carrier should be juuusst fine. Rats are awesome animals and are happy in just about everything…make sure you put a sheet or a towel at the bottom of the cage because they dont like to be sliding around on the plastic and it makes it very hard to walk..have fun on your trip!

I am traveling (from San Jose to Burbank, CA if that matters) this long weekend with my dog on South West airline. I had no previous experience and I am wondering how I can do it. Any thought on this matter (regarding carrier, fees, regulations etc.) will be much appreciated.
Thank you.
