Question by ♥ Animal Luvr ♥: Do you think my bunny will chew through a Sherpa backpack pet carrier? He has to go to the vet.?
SO I don’t have a hard plastic carrier big enough for my mini lop. I have a small one which I used for my cat, but the bunny freaks out and hits his head in it.

My bunny is getting neutered now on April 8th, and I need something to carry him in. I have a Sherpa Backpack carrier which I’ve used for my cats when traveling. My bunny likes it, its pretty cozy. But do you think he would chew through the nylon screen part in the carrier? I know he could if he really worked at it, but what are the chances a bunny would have interest in doing so? Have you used one of these carriers for your bunny? http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3153247&utm_source=cse&utm_campaign=5130154&utm_medium=googleproduct&mr:trackingCode=C0EFD052-4519-DE11-B0EA-001422107090&mr:referralID=NA Its that one. I want him to be comfy and happy while on his way to the vet. Hes not much of a traveler and even hates to be picked up. His little heart pounds the few times I have had to pick him up. He likes for people to come see him at ground level, then hes affectionate and happy. Its gonna be so stressful for him.
Thanks for the chew toy tip. Yeah I think an abundance of parsley and a seagrass square might do the trick.

I don’t think it should be an issue.

Does he normally chew on fabric, like blankets, etc.? Also, it may be a little difficult for him to get purchase on the material.

You don’t have too much to worry about.

Put a favorite chew toy in there with him so that he has something to do and isn’t so scared, and to divert his attention from chewing else where.

Question by : My puppy had parvo, got better, but now i’m worried is she a carrier? Can she give it to any dog?
My dog Lucy, got parvo on Friday last week. She’s been at the Vet’s for 5 days, and is doing better. But i’m a little worried. I’ve heard she’ll be a carry of Parvo forever. Is this true? I have other dogs, will they get it if she is a carrier? Even though she got bettter, can she really give it to other dogs?

Any advice would be great. Thanks!
My dad had told me she will be a carrier forever. I can understand a year. The dog’s she was around had there shots before but where late this year. But as soon as we found out they went to the vet and was giving shots and everything. I love this dog she is my best friend in the world. and where i live there are 4 other dogs. A 1 yr BoxerBeagle Mix, 12 yr old Rot, 3 yr old Lab, and a 5 yr old Beagle.

She won’t be a carrier forever.. Your house / yard is likely to be infected with parvo.. Anywhere she was when she was sick. Is your other dog properly vaccinated ?
Your dog could still be shedding parvo even after she appears to be healthy.. Keep her from other dogs, and make sure your other dog is UTD on vaccinations..

How big will my shih tzu puppy get?

Question by : How big will my shih tzu puppy get?
My shih tzu puppy is 4.7 lbs at 3 months and his parents were both 9/10 lbs. About how big will he get? I will love him at any size but am wondering. The breeder said he may be a little bigger than his parents like 11 lbs. At what age is he full grown? He is very healthy and happy so I am happy but want to make sure the carrier I bought will last. The vet said to go by his parents weight.

Thanks!

Your vet is right. If his parents were 9-10 pounds, he most likely will be the same. He will be fully grown at about 1 year of age.

Question by : Where does my dog have to be in his carrier in the airport?
I am flying with my new puppy for the first time tomorrow and I have never flown with a dog before. He is flying in the cabin with us and we already made his reservation and went to the vet. Like most young puppies he does not like to stay in his carrier unless he is sleeping, I know you have to keep him in there on the flight its self but what about in the airport? Do I have to keep him in there from the minute we walk into the door to check in to when we walk out the door at our final destination?

Only your airline could tell you for sure, but since most people love to see puppies, it wouldn’t surprise me if you can get away with having him out of the carrier in the waiting are as long as he’s on a leash.

You’re biggest problem is that no one is looking for a puppy in the airport. People in airports are very distracted. He could easily get stepped on! I wouldn’t take him out of the carrier unless you can find a gate area that is fairly calm.
